HOW IT CHANGES OUR LIFE

A Colombian documentary filmmaker decides to follow 10 families for a decade to document their decisions in the midst of poverty and see how these impact their future. In one of the most unequal countries in the world, HOW LIFE CHANGES US focuses especially on five of these families who face complicated shocks: an avalanche destroys the village of a teacher in Gramalote; a mother suffers the murder of her son and no one responds in Chinú; two peasant half-sisters, aged 9 and 10, experience the death of their parents in Simijaca; Extra-sports interests slow down the career of a soccer player in Medellín; and a street vendor faces the threat of multinationals that may end their business in the country's capital. In 2020, a pandemic arrives and our families have to face a reality that they do not know, making the differences in a society like Colombia's even more evident. Is it possible to overcome poverty in such an unequal society?
